Thomas the train and Princess Isa

This year was the first time that David understood what Halloween was about. It all began about a month ago when we made a trek out to Target and he saw his costume. Not surprising, he chose to dress up as Thomas the Train. As for our little Isa, we didn't plan on dressing her up until I couldn't resist a deal, a little princess outfit for five bucks, it was so worth it. She ate up all the compliments. David had so much fun and many opportunities to wear his outfit, along with his toot toot Thomas shirt (thanks tia Mari). We went to a Halloween carnival, complete with a bouncy house on Thursday and then on Friday, David had a Halloween party at school. Finally in the evening our friends also had a party for the kids and we took them trick or treating. At first I assumed David wouldn't get it, but he kept up with the older crowd, saying trick or treat at each door, beaming when people welcomed him and called him Thomas the train, he just needed help taking only one candy. Needless to say, his Elmo pumpkin was overflowing. His costume was a bit long, so at times he would trip over it, all his candy would dump out, but he would just collect all his goodies, brush himself off and run to catch up with the group. The neighborhood we hit was handing out several full sized candy bars, but after all his falls, only one made it home, I guess that helped our diet :)

October, another nice month

This past month, just flew by. We had so much fun getting out and soaking in the fall, knowing the snow is imminent, even on the breezy days we were out and about. The mornings are quite chilly so we bundle up.

We had some dear moments with David and Isa. David enjoys cuddling his sister, under close supervision, mostly because he gets extra attention.

We took a day trip out to Burlington, Vermont, were walked down their main street. David loved watching the fountain. My highlight was stopping by a Costco for food and shopping.

Probably the highlight of the month was our trip to the Pumpkin festival. We enjoyed a beautiful sunny day. David frolicked through the pumpkins and found one for him and one for his sister. He even showed his artistic side by painting a pumpkin.

We played outside amongst the leaves and marveled at the beautiful fall colors.

We even spotted deer in our front yard, having a snack, also preparing for the winter.
Halloween pics to follow ;)

Isa at four months

What a joy Isa brings to our family. Lately she just loves to make her own noises, making sure she is a part of all the commotion. During tummy time, she loves to move around, getting stronger every day. She loves to zerbert at us and even does David's famous fake cough for attention. When placed on her back on the floor, she does not stay in one place for long. At her four month appointment she weighed 12 and a half pounds and was 25 inches long. She is growing just fine, she just seems so much smaller than David was at that age.

Isa at two and three months

2 months

As this is my closest attempt to keeping a baby book for my children, I am back tracking a little and posting some pictures of Isabelle at these ages. She really is such a joy, so lively, and always enjoys the hub-bub of our household. At two months Isabelle Kay Felch weighed 9 and half pounds and was 22 inches long. She was already holding her head up and started really enjoying tummy time. Her favorite person in the whole world is her big brother. At three months, Isa continued to blossom. She is so attentive and notices everything and everyone around her. She gurgles and chats with us, telling us all about her day and smiles even more. She has been quite drooly, so we are expecting a tooth pretty soon. All our little pals love being around her, as you saw in the previous post. She is such a charmer!

September, came and went

The month of September was busy unwinding from our summer travels, later schedules and gearing up for a more regular fall schedule. With the fall also comes my favorite season and weather here in New England. We spent plenty of time outdoors enjoying the mild weather on sunny days.

Weekdays went by quickly, David starting school,

Andrew back in full swing at work, and me just trying to juggle the two kids. Needless to say, our weekends were filled with lots of fun activities. We were kindly greeted back to NH from our west coast trip by our good friends with fabulous gifts for the kids.
We enjoyed a real New England "World's Fair" with lots of farm animals, fair food and rides for David. He had a great time driving the cars, around and around and around all by himself, what a big boy!

We had a wonderful time celebrating our pal's birthday, or course, Isa had to wear a party dress.

David, again, enjoyed the cake.
Happy Birthday, Logan!

As the playoffs began we had high hopes for the Dodgers and cheered them on. We visited "the cheese place" and the train and toy museum and David and I rode the train around a couple of times, choo choo!

We had such a wonderful time at the first football game of the season, of course still with the awesome weather it was very enjoyable.
October post coming soon....
