Snow Play

Yesterday the weather was a bit warmer, and by warmer I mean it was in the 30s. David is finally feeling a bit better, so we thought it would be a great day to play in the snow. At first David was upset at how hard it was to walk in the snow, but eventually he got the hang of it. Andrew took David sledding in a small saucer, David loved it, laughing and smiling all the way down. He really liked sliding down his own plastic slide and falling into the snow. It was a lot of fun to see him discover this new winter playland.

Tree Lighting 2007

This year the tree lighting was on one of the coldest nights of the year. Like I said before, David loves lighted Christmas trees, he was fascinated by the giant one in the middle of the town green. As we caroled he just stared and pointed in awe. Afterward, we braved the single digit weather into the reception area and enjoyed music, treats and friends.

1st Noreaster of the Winter

On Sunday night and well into Monday our first Noreaster hit. We got almost a foot of snow just in time to create a winter wonderland for December. Notice my car is covered even though it was under the carport.

David and I had a fun time watching from the warm indoors in our PJs. He loves to cuddle with his pal Mickey. David really enjoys our tree. He loves the lights and is very good about being careful around it. He even gets mad at Cheeky Bunny when she snacks from its branches. David believes it's his tree. In the morning, if I haven't turned on the lights, he points at it until I do.

David enjoys climbing all over the furniture.
Here he is acting like his Mama.

who had a lot of shoveling ahead of him

November News

I know it's been a while since I have updated the blog, here is the month in review. The weather got really cold and we even got some snow in the middle of November.
Next we prepared for Grandpa Keith and Grandma Mary to come and visit for Thanksgiving. We had some exciting news to share with family and friends. Keith and Mary arrived on a very chilly Thanksgiving evening and we all celebrated our meal on Friday. It was nice and relaxing, stayed indoors mostly as David has been sick ever since the weather got cold. David enjoyed playing with Grandma and Grandpa and loved the music.

In this first video, David is waiting for the camera to flash :)

The next day we went traveled into Vermont, toured the Ben and Jerry's factory and happened upon a McDonald's with an indoor playland! You would be surprised how rare they are around here, when it's as cold as it is here, they are wonderful. We also enjoyed meals at Molly's and Lou's before Keith and Mary made the long trek home.

Curious George and Halloween

Yesterday David spent most of the day dressed as a monkey. He loves Curious George, so we called him George and he loved it. At first, he was a little fussed in the outfit, but as soon as we got to the Halloween carnival he realized he wasn't the only one dressed up. He had a great time exploring the world as a monkey. David played with his friends and then came home for a much needed nap. In the afternoon we stopped by another Halloween party were he hung out with Daddy and enjoyed snacks. After we dropped Andrew off back at work, "George" and I passed out candy to all our neighborhood kids. He was excited to have these colorful block like toys in his Elmo basket and walked around the house with a piece of candy in each hand. Little does he know how much fun candy can be if you actually unwrap it and put it in you mouth.

Walden Pond

This past weekend we took a mini-vacation to Boston. Saturday was a bit rainy, we escaped to the mall, did some shopping and really enjoyed dinner at the food court. David and I had Chikfila and Andrew got to eat what he wanted, it really was nice, we love their lemonade! We relaxed in the hotel and watched the baseball game. The next morning, the weather was amazing and we went for a hike around Walden Pond, the Walden Pond where Thoreau lived and wrote. It truly is a place where you can commune with nature.

Enjoying the leaves

A couple of weeks ago, we still had lots of beautiful leaves on our trees. David enjoyed playing in the leaves and was fascinated by the leaves falling off the trees. As the weather became more chilly and breezy, all our trees are know bare. Here are a few pics and video clips from playing outside in the leaves.

Pumpkin Festival

Daddy and David amongst the pumpkins

On Sunday we went to our first ever pumpkin festival. Last year, David was a bit young to enjoy some of the wonderful fall festivities, but this year he absolutely loved it. He began by picking out his own pumpkin from an actual pumpkin patch. Next was a horse drawn cart ride from the pumpkin fields to the pumpkin festival. There was pumpkin painting, lots of yummy food and live music. There were many familiar faces there, but David was happiest to see his little friend Dani (apparently, she was excited to see him, too).

David plays outside

Now that David is walking on his own, it is much easier to play outside. He enjoys his slide and just wandering around our yard. He doesn't always go down, his slide, sometimes he tries to climb up it or just hang out on top.

Democratic Debate at Dartmouth

A couple of weeks ago all of the Democratic candidates came to Dartmouth for a debate. We didn't get tickets for the debate, but David and I met some friend out on the Green to check out all the media in our small town. There was a huge political demonstration area, along with signs, banners, and chanting. We were in the background of Hardball as it was taping live as well as several other local news channels. As I was walking around the Green looking for our friends, we ran into Joe Biden! Rumor had it that most of the non-leading candidates were milling around town, but Obama, Hillary, and Edwards were too big of a security problem to allow that.

Musical fun

During our time in California, we had some fun with music. This first clip is quite the treat, yes that is Daniel playing "guitar" on his Nintendo DS, accompanied by Anthony on the Nintendo Donkey Kong Congos.

Later in the week, David and Edie brought over their karaoke machine and everybody sang along.
Watch Kyle and Baby David in the background, he wants to get in on all the action.

This next clip has Kyle and Daniel cracking us up with a silly song.

In the last clip you will see how the performers are all into it, as well as the backup singers. We had so much fun! Miss everyone!

Enjoying time with family

We had a wonderful time in the middle of September visiting family and friends in California. David had lots of arms to help him practice his walking. With all that encouragement, David is now walking everywhere, more on that later.
